On the Estate...
There are many beautiful hiking trails in the surrounding forest as well as bike and mountain trails. You can also access European walking trails known as the GR.
The medieval village, which has been superbly restored, is a must-see where you can stroll through the streets inside its fortified walls.
The Raymond Du Puy Art Center offers exceptional art exhibitions and concerts. Other points of interest are the Protestant Museum, the medieval castle where exhibits of all kinds take place, a beautiful boutique, La Commanderie, an incredible gourmet restaurant - Les Hospitaliers, and a charming book store and tea room.
You will also find great walking, mountain bike and horseback riding trails (equestrian center in the old village) that depart from Poet-Laval.
Dieulefit and its surroundings...
The picturesque town of Dieulefit is not far from many attractions that include the castles of Grignan, Suze la Rousse and Adhemar as well as many beautiful, botanical villages perched high up on the mountain. You will find medieval churches and chapels all along the countryside as well as many open-air markets (some of which are open in the evening in July and August). The region is host to a variety of antique fairs and concerts, as well as more sports-oriented activities such as river fishing, playing tennis, golfing (20 km away), horse and buggy rides, hiking, cycling and swimming in the town pool.
Arts and crafts...
Dieulefit is world famous for its ceramics. Artisan potters expose their wares in nearby markets and in the town itself along with many other local arts and crafts.
This region is known for its culinary traditions, which include the famous picodon (goat cheese) from Dieulefit, nougat from Montélimar, olives and olive oil from Nyons, truffles and a wide variety of lavender products. The region is also known for its Côtes du Rhône wines, such as Vinsobres, Visan, Châteauneuf du Pape and Tricastin to name a few.
